You probably heard about hypnosis and if you’re anything like me, you were very skeptical about its powers. Especially when it comes to the part where you were told you can hypnotize people without them knowing.

Like me, you probably were a bit curious, but deep inside you felt like obviously it’s a load of bull and there’s no way YOU could be hypnotizing anyone without them knowing anything about it. Yet, something brought you to this article and no matter how much you know about hypnosis, you feel like you’ll learn something extremely valuable here. You just might be very surprised…

You probably hold strong beliefs about certain things. You believe certain things to be true and certain things to be false.

But what you probably don’t know is that a vast majority of these beliefs aren’t a product of your own experience, but rather a product of something someone you trust told you! And until you think about these beliefs consciously and analyze them, you automatically work with them every day in every situation.

When I was a kid, there was a swimming pool my friends and I used to love to go to many times every summer. One day, one of my relatives told me that a kid almost drowned in that same pool.

From that day forward, every time someone suggested we go to that pool, I always wanted to go somewhere else. I just didn’t like it any more. I’d still go to swimming pools, but I avoided this particular one.

What happened there? My relative unknowingly planted a suggestion in my mind… »This pool is dangerous!«

Because this person was my relative, a grown-up and someone I trusted, my subconscious mind accepted the suggestion and started to work with this new belief immediately. So… whenever I thought of going to this particular pool, my subconscious mind, wanting to protect me as always, sent out a warning in a form of a feeling to my conscious mind… fear in a form of »not feeling comfortable with this pool«.

So I avoided that pool for many years until my friend once asked me: »Why don’t you want to go there? It’s great and they renewed it and it really looks good, plus the girls there are pretty fine!« It was at this time that I first really critically asked myself: »Why exactly do I feel such an aversion to this particular pool?«

After some thought, I remembered the story about that kid that almost drowned. At that time I just told myself: »Is that all? Well, let’s go then…« and didn’t realize the importance of this whole experience until much, much later…

It was when I started to study hypnosis and the workings of the human mind that I realized how just one suggestion said with proper timing can have such an impact on a person. So, let’s now look closer at what exactly is covert hypnosis and how you can utilize it to get what you want from people…

Covert hypnosis or conversational hypnosis alternatively, is the art of creating change in people’s thought patterns, behavior, feelings and perceptions of the world in a completely unconscious way. While in a hypnotherapy session, a subject is knowingly induced in a trance and served positive suggestions, it’s much different with covert hypnosis.

Here we’re not working with relaxing and closed eyes. Eyes of the subject are well open and he or she is wide awake.

Trance states we induce in covert hypnosis are different than in ordinary hypnosis, however they share some characteristics… the absence of critical thought and selective, focused thinking. Suggestions are usually woven into metaphor or presented in an unobvious way, although in some cases they are also given directly.

Stories are a great covert hypnosis tool as they can get a message across much better and can be much more memorable. A story also puts our critical mind to rest. Of course not necessary entirely – you can’t go on to tell a story to people that you have the ability to fly or that you went to Mars or similar stuff. Although I know grown-up people that even believe such stories if told by a particular person! So… it has a lot to do with rapport and trust someone has in the one telling stories.

OK, now you understand the very basics of covert hypnosis. You’re aware that it indeed exists and you’re probably ready to learn more about this fascinating subject. There are countless techniques out there, some extremely simple and others more complicated, but they all do the job – they give you the ability to predictably get to a favorable outcome in every social situation.

There are the majority of hypnosis techniques available for those of us to experiment with, but this method is phase tested. The reason for this is it preys on a person’s mental weaknesses without them noticing.

The principles of covert hypnosis is like any other form of hypnosis. No one can actually hypnotize another person without the other person being willing to have it happen.

All of the hypnosis techniques in use rely on the person being hypnotized to relax, and do the work themselves. The only role of the hypnotist is to provide suggestions, advice, ask questions, and get people to explore their subconscious minds.

However, most of these hypnosis techniques require a person to be in a chair, or lying down. This isn’t very feasible when trying to apply hypnosis to a potential customer as they need to stay on their feet.

The trick is to get someone relaxed enough, and then make the suggestion to them without them noticing. Ideally, you want to do this multiple times but continue to do it without being noticed. The trick behind covert hypnosis is to make hypnotic suggestions without people noticing.

Take a car salesman, for example; to make a sale they have to get inside their customers heads and find their exploitable value areas. These areas are often what the customer judges a vehicle by.

This hypnosis technique has been used for hundreds of years by businessmen and shopkeepers around the globe. When doing this, the salesman has to balance between not being suspicious, and not being pushy.

Once people see that you’re trying to get inside their head and play on their values they tend to get angry and leave. This means the salesman will lose his sale if he’s not careful.

The core values or many people that are looking to buy a car are durability, gas mileage, and warranty. You can sell a person a car that performs horribly in these areas if you can suggest that they don’t need these things. Again, you have to be careful when you do this, and have to word it to look as if you’re not trying to suggest something.

If you’re successful, the conversation will continue along the path you are making. If you can keep reinforcing this suggestion and keep the conversation going, you can trick a person into believing this is what they want. Get anyone to do anything for you.

By Vikram Karve

Whenever I undergo any training or course, I try and apply the concepts and skills I learn during the program upon myself in order to ascertain efficacy of the training for I firmly believe in the time-tested adage that “The Proof of the Pudding is in the Eating”.

Thus, the first thing I decided after completing NLP Practitioner Training was to try and apply the concepts I had learnt and imbibed on myself.

NLP stands for neuro-linguistic programming. Sounds complicated and high falutin, isn’t it? Actually NLP is quite simple – let’s see how I applied it in my daily life.

At that point in time, I was a smoker. I had tried to quit smoking many times with little success. Now I’d try a simple concept from NLP to give up smoking.

I succeeded beyond my expectations and gave up smoking in a day. I conquered the craving, the urge, for smoking and never suffered any “withdrawal symptoms”. I quit smoking forever in one go.

Let me describe to you, Dear Reader, that red letter day of my life. I woke up early in the morning, as usual, made a cup of tea, and the moment I took a sip of the piping hot delicious tea, I felt the familiar crave for my first cigarette of the day.

I had identified my first “Smoking – Anchor” – Tea.

I kept down the tempting cup of tea, made a note of the craving [anchor] in my diary, quickly heated a glass of water in the microwave oven, completed my ablutions, stepped out of my house, and embarked upon my customary morning constitutional brisk walk-cum-jog deeply rinsing and cleansing my lungs with pure refreshing morning air, which made me feel on top of the world.

I felt invigorated and happy. I had overcome my craving and not smoked my first cigarette of the day.

Returning refreshed from my brisk bracing morning walk, I stopped to pick up the newspaper, and spotted my friends ‘N’ and ‘S’ across the road beckoning me for our customary post-walk tête-à-tête with tea and cigarettes at our favorite the tea-stall.

Here lurked my second “Smoking – Anchor” – my smoker friends.

I felt tempted, but I steeled my resolve. I waved out to my smoker friends, turned away and briskly headed home.

They must have thought I’d gone crazy, but it didn’t matter – I had avoided my second cigarette of the day.

That’s what I was going to do the entire day. Be aware, look inwards, fully cognizant and mindful in order to ensure that I identify all the stimuli that triggered in me the urge to smoke – my “smoking anchors” which could be anything, conscious and unconscious, internal and external, tangible or intangible – people, situations, events, feelings, smells, emotions, tendencies, moods, foods, social or organizational trends, practices, norms, peer-pressure.

Then I would conquer and triumph over these stimuli, demolish these negative “smoking-anchors” and establish and reinforce new positive healthy “non-smoking anchors” using a Technique called Force Field Analysis.

I’ll tell you more about Force Field Analysis later. Dear Reader, read on and see how my first non-smoking day progressed.

After breakfast, I didn’t drink my usual cup of coffee – a strong “smoking anchor” which triggered in me a strong irresistible craving and desperate desire to smoke. I drank a glass of cold bland milk instead, and thereby averted my third cigarette of the day.

It was nine as I reached my workplace and I had not smoked a single cigarette. Rather I had not smoked my customary three cigarettes!

It was a long day ahead and I had to be cognizant, observe myself inwardly and devise strategies to tackle situations that elicited craving for smoking – recognize and conquer my “smoking anchors”.

Anchoring is a naturally occurring phenomenon, a natural process that usually occurs without our awareness. An anchor is any representation in the human nervous system that triggers any other representation.

Anchors can operate in any representational system (sight, sound, feeling, sensation, smell, taste). You create an anchor when you unconsciously set up a stimulus-response pattern.

Response [smoking] becomes associated with [anchored to] some stimulus; in such a way that perception of the stimulus [the anchor] leads by reflex to the anchored response [smoking] occurring.

Repeated Stimulus-Response [SR] action reinforces anchors and this is a vicious circle, especially in the context of “smoking anchors“. The trick is to identify your “smoking anchors”, become conscious of these anchors and ensure you do not activate them.

And then transcend from the SR Paradigm to the SHOR Paradigm to set and fire new positive anchors. What’s SHOR?

SHOR stands for Stimulus-Hypothesis-Options-Response – I will tell about this management model soon too.

The moment I reached office I saw my colleague ‘B’ eagerly waiting for me, as he did every day. Actually the freeloader was eagerly waiting to bum a cigarette off me for his first smoke of the day. “I only smoke other’s cigarettes” was his motto!

I politely told him I had quit smoking and told him to look for a cigarette elsewhere. He looked at me in disbelief; taunted, jeered and badgered me a bit, but when I stood firm, he disappeared.

I had not smoked my fourth cigarette of the day!

I removed from my office my ashtray, my lighter, all vestiges of smoking, declared the entire place a no-smoking zone and put up signs to that effect.

The working day began. It was a tough and stressful working day. I was tired and suddenly my boss called me across to his office and offered me a cigarette. I looked at the cigarette pack yearningly, tempted, overcome by a strong craving, desperate to have just that “one” cigarette.

Nothing like a “refreshing” smoke to drive my blues away and revitalize me – the “panacea” to my “stressed-out” state! It was now or never!

I politely excused myself on the pretext of going to the toilet, but rushed out onto the terrace and took a brisk walk rinsing my lungs with fresh air, and by the time I returned I had lost the craving to smoke and realized that physical exercise is probably the best antidote – a positive “non-smoking” anchor – and, of course, I had not smoked my fifth cigarette of the day!

It was the famous Stoic philosopher Epictetus who said: ”Happiness and freedom begin with a clear understanding of one principle: Some things are within our control, and some things are not. It is only after you have faced up to this fundamental rule and learned to distinguish between what you can and cannot control that inner tranquility and outer effectiveness become possible.”

We often let our feelings set our anchors, govern our lives. We let feelings drive our thoughts, not realizing that thoughts drive actions, actions produce results, and results in turn produce more feelings, reinforce anchors, causing a vicious circle which may ultimately lead to loss of self-control.

Such “feeling-anchors” not totally controllable, as many times feelings are produced by external circumstances beyond your control, and if negative feelings are allowed to drive our thoughts and actions, then undesirable results emanate.

The best solution is to establish “thought-anchors” as drivers of your actions. It is well within your control to think positive, good and interesting thoughts.

In fact, the happiest person is the one who thinks the most interesting and good thoughts, isn’t it? That’s the essence of NLP.

Reprogram your anchors, recondition your mind, control your own life, change for the better and enhance your plane of living.

This technique works for me, and I’m sure it’ll work for you too. Maybe it is so effective because it is so breathtaking in its simplicity.

Author: Alan Densky

Thanks to stage and television, most people have a lot of misconceptions about hypnosis. That’s too bad because hypnotherapy is a modality that can help many people to make the changes that they’ve been struggling with. So I’m going to clarify just what the simple truths are about hypnosis.

The Definition of Self Hypnosis:

Hypnotism is a state of hyper-suggestibility where the conscious mind and the subconscious dissociate. It is a state of consciousness where the hypnotized client is more likely to agree to the Hypnotist’s suggestions.

You have been in hypnosis many times in your life without even realizing it. If you’ve ever watched a sad television show and reacted with a tear in your eye, you have been in the hypnotic state. You entered a state of amplified suggestibility where you uncritically accepted the suggestion of gloom on the TV screen and reacted with a sad emotion, your tear.

In other words, your ability to reason, which is controlled by your conscious mind, was bypassed. You did not reason that the show was just a play; you accepted the action as being genuine. So you reacted with real passion and shed a tear.

Who Can Be Placed in Hypnosis?

Hypnotherapists have found that all normal people are hypnotizable to a greater or lesser extent. Subjects with less than a 70 I.Q. generally can’t be hypnotized. People who are actively psychotic by and large cannot be hypnotized. Most senile people are difficult to hypnotize.

I have found in my own hypnotherapy practice dealing with a large number of retired people up to 85 years of age, that self hypnosis is a potent and beneficial technique for most people. A person’s motivation is the key to his or her success.

Do I Have to Be a “Deep” Subject for Success?

For the curative applications of self hypnosis we most often deal with, hypnotic depth of any kind is not required. You can be the lightest possible subject and still obtain all of the benefits from self hypnosis that the deepest subjects will obtain. I believe that over the years, far too much importance has been placed on how deep a subject is.

If the hypnotic subject is deep, it could be of benefit. This however, may not necessarily be the case. In fact, with the latest hypnotic methods like Ericksonian self hypnosis and state of the art “NLP” (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), hypnotic depth is one of the least imperative aspects, which contribute to success.

Are There Any Dangers in Self Hypnosis?

There are on the whole no dangers to the practice of self hypnosis. It is impossible to “get stuck” in self hypnosis. The most awful thing that could possibly happen while a patient is in the hypnotic state is that she might fall into a natural state of sleep for 20 or 30 minutes. She would wake up rested and no longer in a state of self-hypnosis.

Misconceptions About the Hypnotic State:

There are many misnomers about self hypnosis. Most of them can be attributed to stage and television shows. As luck would have it, it’s on account of the fact that the television can hypnotize you that these misnomers are so strongly ingrained in people’s minds.

Is Self Hypnosis a State of Sleep?

The largest misconception about self hypnosis is that it’s a state of sleep. Not anything could be further from the truth. If you are asleep, you are unconscious. If you are unconscious, you cannot hear anything. If you cannot hear anything, then the hypnotist cannot help you.

Hypnosis is a state of keen awareness. The subject is wide awake and aware of everything around her. This misconception comes from the stage Hypnotist’s use of the word “sleep” as equivalent to a state of hypnosis.

When the old time hypnotist swung a pocket watch in front of his subject’s face, he told his subject that she was getting “sleepy.” Then he told his subject to “go to sleep.” What he meant was to go into a hypnotic sleep, not a natural sleep.

Is There a Hypnotized Feeling?

The second largest misconception is that there is a hypnotized feeling. There is no hypnotized feeling. I repeat there is no hypnotized feeling. Most people feel very relaxed when in the hypnotic state, as relaxation seems to be the essence of hypnosis.

Some people feel heavy. Some people feel light. Some people have other sensations and feelings. Other people have absolutely no feeling that they are in a state of hypnosis, and believe they haven’t been hypnotized when they most definitely have.

Can the Hypnotherapist Control Me?

NO! The hypnotist cannot make you do anything against your will. There is always an observing ego state. Should the therapist make an offensive suggestion; this ego state would reject that suggestion.

Additionally, you will probably come out of the hypnotic state if the hypnotherapist makes an offensive suggestion.

Can the Therapist Force Me to Divulge My Secrets?

You will not give up any secrets while in a state of hypnosis unless you want to do so. The hypnotist does not have any control over the subject. Quite the contrary, the subject has more control over herself since at this time she can directly communicate with her own subconscious.

The subject can easily decline any suggestion the hypnotist makes, no matter how simple or complicated the suggestion might be. The subject can open her eyes, exit from the state of self hypnosis, and walk out of the room at any time she chooses.

Must People Tell the Truth When in the Hypnotic State?

No! People can lie when in a state of self hypnosis.

Do Hypnotists Have Special Powers?

This is a common misnomer. The hypnotist does not have any special powers, nor does he have any special vibrations with which to hypnotize you into the state of hypnosis.

Actually, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The hypnotist leads the subject into a state of hypnotism. In other words, the ability of self hypnosis is within the subject.

Why Do People Fail to Reach Their Goals When Using Hypnosis?

Perhaps the largest reason for the failure to reach one’s goals through self-hypnosis is an inadequate amount of practice where self-hypnosis is concerned.

The largest reason for the return of a symptom or “relapse” is the early discontinuance of self hypnosis with the Hypnotherapist or recorded program. While self-hypnosis is important, it is generally the hetero-hypnosis with the hypnotist or hypnosis recording which has the greatest impact upon the subconscious.

This is because of the training and experience that the hypnotist has vs. the lack of training and experience of the client. Some people are penny wise and pound-foolish. They mentally set an amount of time that they are willing to spend for help. And then they prematurely cut off their sessions because; “I didn’t lose 50 Lbs. in two days, so it isn’t working.”

If a therapeutic method is really helping one to make their desired changes, then it is priceless and it should be continued. It is for this reason that it is wise to have follow up self hypnosis sessions, even after a symptom seems to have disappeared completely. Self-hypnosis should be an ongoing affair on a daily basis. Ultimately, YOUR SUCCESS IS UP TO YOU!

Will I Be Better Off Hiring a Hypnotist, or Will Purchasing a Recorded Program Work Better?

That is a wonderful question. Normally I would recommend that you employ the services of a reputable hypnotist. The reason is that by meeting with you, a good hypnotist / NLP’er will be able to customize his approach to your personality and your favored representational system — the way you favor taking in information through your senses to make sense out of it and react to it.

In my opinion, ninety-nine percent of the recorded self hypnosis CDs available at this time are based on Traditional Hypnosis, and consist of only one or maybe two sessions of it at that. Traditional Hypnosis is nothing more than a set of direct commands: “If you eat a brownie you’ll barf.” “You won’t have cravings and urges,” etc..

This technology has an exceptionally poor track record of success because the people in our generation have been trained to question everything. That’s why you, your friends, and your kids usually do the opposite of what they are told to do. This is called a polarity response.

That being said, having sessions with any hypnotist / NLP’er who has enough experience to be able to actually help you can cost a great deal of money. There are some hypnotic programs available on the Internet based on Ericksonian Hypnosis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) that have overcome those shortcomings. They’ve managed this by utilizing a mix of Ericksonian Hypnosis, NLP, Traditional Hypnosis, and the highly regarded Video Hypnosis technology.

These are all methods that are designed to do away with the resistance factor. In fact, Video Hypnosis and the NLP technology that it’s based on do not utilize suggestion at all. These technologies rely on using the thought processes that have created a problem, to eliminate it!

Look for vendors who offer these technologies in multi-session products. These are programs that generally have six to eight different hypnosis or NLP sessions, so the subject is exposed to a broad range of technologies. It takes a lot of work to make this type of program, but the high success rates achieved are well worth the effort.

Stay away from the “one size fits all” – “do-or-die” self hypnosis CDs and downloads. Many are attracted to these programs because they are inexpensive, usually under ten dollars. But is it cheap if it just wastes your valuable time and doesn’t work?

If you order a program and it doesn’t work, then you get guarded and start to expect the next approach to fail. And you get what you expect. Do you really think that the same exact commands will work for everyone? Do you think that they will work for you? Do you typically do exactly as you are told to do? Or do you usually feel a desire to do the opposite of what you are told to do?

Hypnosis: so easy, you do it with your eyes closed.

Fundamentals of the Mind

The human mind may be subdivided into three parts: the Unconscious, Subconscious and Conscious. These compare to a computer:

Unconscious = operating system

Subconscious = hard drive

Conscious = RAM

Each part has separate and distinct tasks.

The Unconscious mind operates your automatic body systems such as the circulatory system, much as a computer’s operating system includes its basic functions.

The Subconscious mind operates like a hard drive by storing files of all kinds, from a full memory bank of your past to your emotional spectrum, to its most vital task: protecting you at all costs.

The Conscious mind is our everyday mind, making immediate day to day decisions like what to wear, eat, and drink. It is the gatekeeper, choosing what information is to be acted upon moment by moment. It’s the mind you’re reading this book with right now, and its tasks include comparing, reasoning, and explaining. These abilities are called the Critical Factor and are bypassed in hypnosis.

Importance of the Subconscious Mind

To update a file on your computer, you must open the original file and make the changes. In the human mind, original files are stored in the Subconscious. To gain access, we must reach the Subconscious directly, bypassing the Conscious mind.

In other words, one way to gain positive changes in the present is to neutralize the negativity in the past. We do not change the memories, we upgrade how you feel about them. This upgrading can only be accomplished in the Subconscious, for that is where memories are stored, and it can only be reached through bypass of the Conscious mind, and that can only be done through hypnosis.

Why? It’s what works. Hypnosis specifically sets the Conscious mind aside temporarily.

Your Mind Must Protect You; Good News, Bad News

All levels of your mind work to protect you as best they can at all times. And this especially applies to the Subconscious. It must protect you at all costs, and to do so, it may even lie to you, or more to the point, to your Conscious mind. It may lie about you, about others, it may even lie to your hypnotist while you are in trance. It may hide memories from you. And much, much more.

This is because once it accepts negative behaviors in the name of your safety, it hangs on to those behaviors. Some examples are:

•smoking anything

•being obese

•declining success

•biting your fingernails

•spending compulsively

You may well ask, how can compulsive spending possibly protect me? It distracts you. Misdirection is one highly effective way your Subconscious protects you by keeping a lid on overwhelming emotions. Ergo the addict.

You may well ask, how can declining to be successful possibly protect me? It limits you. Limiting exposure to risk is another way to protect you. It is when such protective efforts do not meet your current needs that you desire change. Hypnosis sets aside the Conscious mind, makes changes via the Subconscious mind, and change is achieved.

How Hypnosis Upgrades Your Files

Hypnosis is able to change your perception of your memories, and thus of yourself. We do not change the events themselves, we upgrade how you feel about them, and thus your daily life is upgraded.

By accessing the original files stored in the Subconscious, you are able to see all of the reasons why your mind specifies your behaviors in the name of protecting you, and together we upgrade those behaviors since, typically, the need of that protection is gone.

You are no longer in the middle of the event that had such impact on you. Your Conscious mind does not have complete access to your memory files; that is not its job. This is why merely talking about change is such an ineffective means of getting any.

Talking happens in the Conscious mind. Change happens in the Subconscious. And here’s the rub: the Subconscious outvotes the Conscious mind. It is far, far larger, stronger, and more powerful. This is why willpower fails so miserably for the dieter.

Unless the Subconscious agrees to a healthy diet and a normalized body weight, your finest of intentions are shortlived, having been overridden by the Subconscious mind.

Emotions

Emotions are a function of, and are stored in, the Subconscious. When you have had an emotional reaction to danger, for example, real or imagined, those emotions are felt and stored in your Subconscious.

Hypnosis accesses those stored emotions, upgrades your perception of them, and results in changed behavior. You must give yourself permission to make changes. You must want to change. You must want to enter into hypnosis.

And this means not being afraid of hypnosis. So, let’s define what hypnosis is in several ways, as there is no single perfect way to phrase it.

What Hypnosis Is

•“Hypnosis is the bypass of the critical factor of the conscious mind combined with the establishment of selective thinking,” says the US Government.

•Hypnosis is a blend of physical relaxation and extreme mental alertness. Yes, I said extreme.

•Hypnosis is a state of focused concentration. This is why a few minutes of emotional expression in trance is worth hours in an alert state. Humans are so easily distracted, and the Conscious mind is forever making excuses for everything. In hypnosis, the conscious mind is set aside, and excuses are seen for what they are.

•Hypnosis is the state you enter into every time you watch a tv show you like, see a film you like, or sit down at the computer intending to only be there for 10 minutes… and suddenly it’s two hours later.

•Hypnosis also happens when humans fall in love, literally entranced.

What Hypnosis Is Not

•Hypnosis is not mind control.

•Hypnosis is not a royal proclamation.

•Hypnosis is not sleep.

We use relaxation, not sleep, to enter hypnosis. You do not wake up from hypnosis, you emerge. And you already know exactly what emerging from hypnosis feels like!

Remember the last time you went to the movies, loved the film, and at the end when the credits rolled, you suddenly “came to”? You just emerged from hypnosis. That’s exactly what it feels like, because that’s exactly what happened.

•Hypnosis is not being unconscious. You can hear everything that goes on around you during trance; you’re just not interested in it.

•Hypnosis is not relaxation. That’s just an optimal starting point.

•Hypnosis is not being drugged. However, one can easily mimic a drugged state in hypnosis, provided you have previously felt the effects of that drug. Your body remembers. This is useful for pain control.

•Hypnosis is not involuntary.

Just as no one can make you enjoy a movie that fails to entrance you, no one can make you remain in hypnosis. I typically teach my clients self hypnosis on the very first session so that they know for certain that they can emerge whenever they like. Anyone can emerge from hypnosis instantly by making that their intention.

How Does It Actually Happen?

Hypnotists use methods we call techniques. These include Guided Imagery, Rescuing Events, The Forgiveness Pyramid, Parts, The Spa of Your Inner Mind, Upgrades, and Higher Mind, to mention a few.

The Last Word

The media uses hypnosis on you all the time. Aaaalllllllll the time. Advertisers have been known to employ hypnotists to assess the hypnotic potential of a given advertisement, and pay good money for it.

Everytime you watch tv and enjoy it, you go into a state of trance. Ditto listening to music, going to the movies, watching a DVD, hearing talk radio, reading a magazine, and so forth. When you don’t like a particular type of music, that is expressly because it fails to put you into the trance you listen to music for.

So here comes the big duh. Why should media have all the fun? Please visit your friendly neighborhood trance specialist and use hypnosis to further your own goals.

Ah, hypnosis. So easy you can do it with your eyes closed.

Hypnosis is a mental state of heightened nervous relaxation where the unconscious part of the mind is more open and susceptible to suggestions. The use of hypnosis in psychotherapy and medicine in its seemingly close relative the “placebo effect” has led to some strong conclusions that hypnosis is one of the best ways of changing some behavioral patterns if not discovering lost or repressed memories.

Hypnosis is a specialized learning, which should be handled by professionals as it unloads or searches one’s conscious and unconscious levels. The only free hypnosis available online are those of learning the basics, tips on how to do it yourself and audio or sound downloadables to help induce the hypnotic state.

Free hypnosis only happens when one employs the techniques on inducing hypnosis. This can be done through relaxation and intense mental or visual concentration on a specific subject or object. What free hypnosis only does is to induce hypnosis and what you actually do or plan before and after it depends substantially on what you desire to achieve through hypnosis.

Problems concerning addiction such as cigarette smoking have been addressed quite widely by the use of hypnosis and how to change it. But the danger of quitting some form of addiction is the possibility of substituting it to another behavior such as overeating which is a worry for those who don’t want to gain weight.

But weight loss programs and treatment are also addressed in hypnosis. Free hypnosis in the sense of helpful scripts and suggestion for these personal concerns are available. Books are also available about the subject and may be more informative and scientifically based.

One of the first things in doing self hypnosis which is being promoted and widely advertised in free hypnosis is the clarity of what you want to achieve in the hypnosis. The wide array of seemingly attractive motivations on doing hypnosis include discovering one’s self, boosting one’s confidence, overcoming shyness and sexual performance anxiety, to relieve stress and tension, stopping nail biting, and boosting one’s energy.

The more creative ideas that had been thought of in hypnosis include remembering what is read, improving one’s memory, speed reading, overcoming procrastination, returning to work or school and embracing one’s femininity.

Clarifying what is truly desired greatly improves chances of a successful hypnosis. In hypnosis done by a hypnotherapist and a subject, the success greatly depends on the cooperation of both and more importantly by their desire to succeed. The hypnotherapist’s confidence greatly affects how the hypnosis should go and it is the same with self-hypnosis.

The more one is putting his or her mind in concentration, the more one is helped. A relaxing music to induce hypnosis and a quite place to spend at least thirty minutes of mental exercise are necessary as one starts hypnosis. One other important aspect to prepare of helping one’s self through this method is to learn about it. A wealth of information is available about the subject even through the Internet as free hypnosis courses are being offered.
