3 Self Hypnosis Tips You Need To Know

Practicing self hypnosis is one of the best ways to make changes in your life.  But regardless of the changes you’d like to make, here are some things you’ll want to do to make your sessions more successful.

Prepare Your Affirmations – You’ll need to get a good understanding of what it is you want to change or accomplish.  Don’t try to lose weight, stop smoking and get over your fear of flying all at once.  Work on one thing at a time.

Think about “why” you want to make the change.  Visualize yourself after those changes have been made.  What will you look like?  How will you feel?  Create some “positive” affirmations and write them down.  Keeping your affirmations “positive and precise” is very important.  For example instead of, “I want to lose some weight”, try something like “I can see myself at my ideal weight”.  Never use phrases like, “try”, “want”, “maybe”, “hope”.  Instead, use words and phrases such as, “I will”, “I can”, “I expect”.

Use Deep Breaths To Relax – Breath is life.  Breath is healing.  When taking in a deep breathe, you’re bringing in lots of healthy oxygen to feed your cells.  Taking nice deep breaths helps you to relax and center yourself.  Not only is this good for self hypnosis, but it’s an excellent way to calm yourself in a stressful situation.  The hard part is recognizing the situation and then breathing properly.

Decide On A Pleasant, Peaceful, Safe Place – Its very important that create in your mind, a place that you can “retreat” to when doing your self hypnosis.  This doesn’t have to be some place that you have actually visited before, although that might help you to “connect” to it easier.  This could just be a place in your imagination or dreams.  Maybe it’s the beach, a peaceful forest or a hay meadow.  You decide.  Just be sure it’s someplace where you feel safe, secure and comfortable.  You will use this place as a trigger for calming yourself when stressed and also as a way to enter hypnosis and deepen the hypnotic state.

Keep these three tips in mind and you should find your self hypnosis sessions to be much easier and more productive.
