Hypnotherapist vs. Self Hypnosis Audio Programs
So you have a problem or want to make a change in your life, but you’re confused. Should you go to a hypnotherapist or will an audio program do just as much good?
With either choice you make, I believe you’ve done yourself a favor by choosing hypnosis to help you reach your goals. But this is a great question that many people struggle with.
For the purposes of this article, I can’t go into great detail on the subject of a self hypnosis audio program vs. going to see a hypnotherapist. But in the space I do have, I’ll try to highlight some of the main points to consider.
Scheduling a visit with a good hypnotherapist definitely has advantages. Probably the biggest advantage is that when you’re working with an actual person, that person will ask questions and should be able to dig up clues as to “why” you’re having the issues you’re having, or why it is you would like to make the change you want to make. After gathering this information, the hypnotherapist is able to tailor the hypnosis session just for you.
You see, sometimes a weight problem, a smoking issue or other challenges, are actually deep rooted within us. A well trained hypnotherapist has the ability to dig for the clues that are keeping you from achieving your goals. Once they understand where the roadblocks lie, it’s much easier to create a session that is specially made for you and your particular situation.
Hypnosis audios such as MP3’s and CD’s, are more “general” as compared to a personal session. They’re created to work for the majority of people. They address problems or situations that are common to a particular issue such as losing weight or phobias.
MP3’s and CD’s are very easy to use. If you find a quality program that is available in MP3 format, then you can download those audio’s immediately after purchase. After downloading, you can listen to MP3’s on you computer, an iPod or other MP3 player, or you can burn these to a CD and listen to them on a CD player as well. This eliminates the need to wait on CD’s to arrive.
If you don’t mind waiting for shipping of the CD’s, then your choices of programs expand because not everyone creates an MP3 version, (yet). Some people would prefer to receive the package and get the physical CD’s. I can certainly understand that. I’m just an impatient person so I like to get my order as quickly as possible.
This article highlights just a few of the differences between a visit to an actual hypnotherapist and listening to a self hypnosis audio program at home. Both ways have advantages and disadvantages. Here’s to your success whichever you choose!
